FAQs:

Q: Hey, can I play too?

A: YES, definitely! The more the merrier. Join the Party. (I can't tell you how often i get this message.) As long as there is time left on the Countdown, you can submit a part.

Q. Which part should I play?

A. That is up to YOU. YOU CHOOSE your part. I do not assign parts. Please fill in your name on the spreadsheet on the correct page.

Q: Can I / Should I use an external microphone?

A: If you have a good microphone you know how to record with, by all means, use it and upload to me your video file and your audio file as two separate files....please dont worry about syncing them. Special note: please dont disable the audio on the camera...that helps me sync the video files up.

Q. There are some differences between the audio and the part. What should I play?

A. Play the sheet music. The recording is a rough draft.

Q. Do I have to play ALL the double stops?

A. Not at All!...in fact, don't play any them if they seem difficult....only play them if they sound good! Pick a part that is appropriate to your difficulty.

Q. What if i can't play all the notes?

A. Then don't! Please don't play something too difficult for you.

Try to learn the one of the best rules of chamber music...just keep up and contribute positively. You can sit out or fake it quietly in sections that are too difficult for you...In fact, please do! it would help me mixing it all together. :)

Q. How can I donate?

...one device will be used to film your performance in "one take"

...one device will play a backing audio track to align your performance

In general, phone cameras are way better than iPad cameras.

LOUD AND ACCURATE CLAPS PLEASE. 3 claps with the backing tracks.

FILL THE SCREEN WITH YOU! (not your ceiling)

PRACTICE a few times before FILMING - Fast Forwarding Backing track to 1min

Try to find a quiet space and one that is well lit.

(In front of a sunny window is othen better than trying to use artifical light)

PLEASE TUNE (A=440hz)

GO! Repeat as necessary. ;)

STEP 5 UPLOAD YOUR VIDEO TO TONY

PLEASE USE THIS LINK ABOVE INSTEAD OF EMAILING ME

I HAVE TO RENAME ALL OF YOUR FILES

...unless you put it in the following format:

Like------ NAME: "3A Peter Jordan"

(if your name is Peter Jordan and you played the Cello 3A part)

IF YOU CAN RENAME YOUR FILE, that saves me a step.

IF YOU CANT RENAME YOUR FILE (or even if you can)

on the UPLOADER, type "3A Peter Jordan" for your name
